The number of globlal mobile phones users will increase to 5 billion soon

It's predicted based on the prediction of analyst that the worldwide mobile phone users will totall 5 billion by the weekend due to the rapid development of the economy in India and China and the cheap price of the wholesale moble phones. In addition, there are many people hold two phones at the same time in North America and Western Europe.

According to the market research institute – Mobile World statistics, the number of world mobile phone users is increased by 0.168 billion and the total mobile users are increased to 4.82 billion.

Due to the rapid development of the developing countries' market, the number of the mobile phone users in the world will be more than 5 billion which is about 73% of the whole global population in June.

The Mobile World analyst John Tysoe said to Financial Times on Friday, "I may make a bold prediction here. 5 billion mobile phone users may be achieved today or tomorrow and the last one is likely to be an Indian." The prediction is based on the data of listed companies in March and the market growth rate to a great extent.

According to the Mobile World statistics, the total number of mobile users in China and India is increased by 50 million in April and May. It's about 28% of the increased users in March. In the first quarter, the increased number of China and India is equal to more than half of the world total number. But the one of G-7 is only 4.6% and most of the increased users come from America.

The communication cost is decreased rapidly because of the firece competition in the Indian communication market. The number of India mobile phone users is 0.5 billion which is far more than 34 million of fixed telephone.

Tysoe said, "India has got a healthy economic growth point. The engine for economic growth is transited from luxury market to essential market. And the same changes are also taken in African countries."

Meanwhile, the mobile market of developing countries is gaining profits indirectly from the firece competion of the European and American smartphones market. The market share of the world phone manufacturers like Nokia and Motorola is gradually occuppied by apple's iPhone. Then they are expanding to the Asian and African market with high market share and low cost.

We know there are 6.8 billion people around the world, but less than three quarters of the people own mobile phone. One quarter of the 5 billion mobile users own two mobile phones. For example, some people may use a common phone and a blackberry phone at the same time. And there are people use several SIM cards to save the cost of the phone call.

Tysoe predicted that the worldwide people are found on average to own a phone by 2014 even though it's not well balanced. According to the statistics on Informa, the number of mobile phone users in the world had reached 3.3 billion in November, 2007. It's about half of the whole global population.
